September Weekend Fun

So far September has been a fun month! We started the month off with time in Okoboji for Labor Day. Time at Grandma and Grandpa's is the best! We played lawn games, ate great food, and a lot of walks.
Love coffee & talks on the deck with Grandma and Aunt Tracy

The next weekend was Norwalk's homecoming. So early this year! I helped fill 400+ water balloons Friday morning.  The water ballon toss and picnic was a success. I came home to take a quick nap since I had the football game and homecoming dance to chaperone that night. We won the game and the dance went by fast. I think the students had a lot of fun and we had a good turnout. One dance down, two to go.

On Saturday morning we headed to Boone for Pufferbilly Days. It isn't just any Pufferbilly Days, Boone is celebrating 150 years! We watched the parade and ate Sue's delicious brunch. The parade lasts a long time and is actually pretty impressive. I enjoyed catching up with Boone people I hadn't seen for awhile and family. Justus really liked the Trump mobile...
"Rump" won't be getting this vote... Oops, I mean Trump
After the parade my mom took Justus and I to see the new school. It is pretty impressive!

After the parade and trip to the new school my mom headed downtown to the vendors. We also wanted to see Trump. We think it is a joke he is running for president, but when Trump is in BOONE, IOWA you go see him. I had to see this craziness. Did you know when Trump is president the trains will run faster...

What a long day, but we aren't done yet! Justus and I headed to Redekers, but our table has been moved to the new store. We will have to go back in October. We then headed to Adel to a friends house to watch the Iowa vs. ISU game. Sadly ISU lost, but it was a great time hanging with friends and enjoying some food and drinks.

This past week we had an event for Justus' work. We went to Big City Burgers for appetizers and drinks. After dinner, we headed to the Civics Center for Dirty Dancing. The play was great- the singers and dancers amaze me. I love the perks of Justus' work!
Fun to get fancy with my hubby! No teacher cardigan and khakis tonight!

Ready for the show!

This Saturday we finally have internet (more on that in another blog post). It was nice to drink coffee while Pinteresting! Justus suggested a walk around Grays Lake and then lunch at Gateway Market. I loved that he though this up! We walked around the lake and then walked down MLK. Gateway Market was busy, but worth the wait. I got an amazing Greek salad and Justus got a quesadilla and mashed potatoes. Such a weird combo, but it is Justus after all! Nonetheless, it was delicious and we will be going back. Now, time for some ISU football, Netflix, and relaxing.
